Life Of A Gallipoli Soldier
On the twenty fifth of April we landed in Gallipoli. When we landed the Turkish soldiers were shooting with their guns and firing their bombs. None of us were hurt.
We hopped out of the ship and grabbed our guns and bombs. There were a lot of Turkish soldiers standing on the mountain shooting down at us. We had to run to find a place to hide. We found a good place to hide in the trenches where the soldiers already dug them out before.
It was justed midday. It was the first World War and we were fighting for New Zealand and The British Empire. We shot some of the Turkish soldiers . Jonah was a really good shooter who aimed and killed ten soldiers in a row.
Next, Private Ronnie brought Anzac biscuits for the New Zealand soldiers. We all received two Anzac biscuits. because Ronnie brought four packets of biscuits.
Private Junior was really thirsty so our Captain said that we were only allowed a little sip. Junior was really glad he was allowed to drink. It was time for them to go again when they walked out and I saw some soldiers dead on the ground. Luckily Privates Ronnie, Jonah and Junior were alive.
As Proud as a soldier.
